    Along with the ENSI website, the new ENSI Board website has been redesigned in line with the new look of the Federal Administration. It has a fresher design, offers new functions, and is more clearly structured. The main topics can still be accessed directly via the main navigation.

    The ENSI Board learnt about nuclear safety in Finland and Sweden

    In autumn 2024, the Board of the Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (ENSI) visited the Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM). A visit to the nuclear power plants at the Olkiluoto site in Finland was also on the programme.

    Long-term operation takes centre stage

    With the service mandate from 2024 to 2027, the ENSI Board has set new targets for the Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (ENSI). The focus of ENSI’s regulatory activities is now the safe long-term operation of the nuclear power plants.

    At the end of 2023, Oskar Grözinger left the ENSI Board, as he has reached the statutory term limit of 12 years. In Oskar Grözinger, the ENSI Board is losing a member who brought both in-depth knowledge and experience in the field of reactor technology and extensive leadership experience to the Board.

    At its meeting on 4 March 2022, the Federal Council followed the proposal of the ENSI Board and elected Paul Bossart as a new member of the ENSI Board. Paul Bossart will take office on 1 April 2022.
